I'm watching season three of Buffy right now--I just finished "Lovers Walk". And, while, ouch--the thought occurred to me that I love the villains on this show just as much as I love the heroes. Well, the villains who still have a bit of humanity in them. Things like Mr. Trick's "Slayerfest '98" and Spike pining over Drusilla make me like them. I mean, I still want the Good Guys to win, of course--but after so many boring and formulaic "BWAHAHA YES I AM EVIL KILL MAIM SLAUGHTER" villains, it's nice to see inventive ones.
This is so wrong.
