Author's Note: This story is an early birthday present for cakemage. I'm posting it early because I don't know when I'll have the time to write this week. (Finals... ugh.) Anyway, happy birthday, Mae!

"Good morning, Mac!" Jen chirped.

"Need coffee," Mac mumbled, rubbing her eyes.

Jen laughed. "Right here." She placed a mug of steaming coffee in Mac’s hands and sat on the bed.

Mac cracked an eye open. "How can you be so awake at 0630 on a Sunday?" she asked. "Especially after last night."

Jen grinned. "Well, when you live with three other women and only have one bathroom, you get used to waking up early to beat the rush." Mac nodded and sipped her coffee.

"Oh! Happy Valentine’s Day," Mac said, leaning over and kissing her lover quickly. She swept her tongue through Jen’s mouth, the bitter taste of the strong coffee mingling with the minty fresh sensation of her toothpaste. She sat back, pleased at the dazed look on Jen’s face.

"Mac! You can’t do that and expect me to do nothing," Jen complained.

"Of course not," Mac smirked.

"Ooh, you..." Jen stuck her tongue out.

"You better put that away unless you plan on using it," Mac smirked.

Jen grinned wickedly. Bending her head, she traced her tongue around Mac’s navel. "Jen," she breathed. "L-let me put my coffee down before I spill it." Her hand shaking slightly, she placed the mug down on the nightstand with a thump. Smiling, Jen brought her hands up and began tickling Mac’s sides. Mac started laughing hysterically.

"S-stop! Please! I-I can’t breathe!" Mac giggled, trying to wriggle away. Jen pinned her in place. Her tongue began to drift lower.

"Jen..." Mac breathed, twining her fingers through her lover’s long hair. Jen pushed Mac’s legs apart, tracing the inside of her thighs with the tips of her fingers. She pressed her tongue against Mac’s hot slit. She backed away, and Mac shifted her hips impatiently. "Jen... please." Jen smiled and sucked the other woman’s clit into her mouth. She chuckled at the whimper this produced. The vibrations turned the whimper into a moan. Jen placed two fingers inside Mac, pressing up on the spot where she knew was most sensitive. Mac thrashed on the bed. Jen wasn’t sure if she was trying to get closer or further away. She got her answer when Mac’s hands tightened on her head. She bit down gently. Mac screamed, her body shuddering.

Mac lay back on the pillows, gasping for breath. Jen crawled up the bed and propped her head on her arm. "Consider that payback for Friday," Jen said, smirking.

Mac laughed. "I should send you flowers more often, then." She had sent a bouquet of roses to the office for Jen--anonymously, of course. Jen had been ragged on all day. "The look on your face..."

Jen punched Mac’s arm. "When Commander Rabb asked me if I had a hot date, I thought I would just die of embarrassment!"

"Well, the commander can be quite immature," Mac said, rolling her eyes. "And don’t tell me you didn’t love it," she teased.

"I did," Jen admitted. "Not the teasing part, but I loved the roses. They were beautiful."

"They reminded me of you." Jen blushed at Mac’s matter-of-fact statement. She stood and walked over to her bag. Pulling out a small rose-shaped box, she returned to the bed.

"Happy Valentine’s Day," she said, suddenly shy. She handed Mac the box.

"What’s this?" Mac asked curiously.

"Open it," Jen encouraged.

Mac opened the box. Inside was a gold ring. Two entwined hearts were connected with a single diamond. "Oh... Jen," Mac breathed. "It’s beautiful."

"It’s a promise ring," Jen said. Mac looked at her, dark eyes shining. "Mac? Say something," Jen said nervously.

"I... I... thank you," Mac whispered, at a loss for words.

"I know that we can’t tell our friends, but at least this way you have a reminder that there’s always someone there for you."

Mac smiled. "I didn’t need the reminder, but thank you all the same." She slipped the ring on her left ring finger. Leaning over, she lightly kissed Jen’s cheek. "I love you, Jen."

"I love you too, Mac," Jen replied, wrapping her arms around her lover.
