A broad thanks

I would just like to thank everyone that sent me virtual hugs and support. (You know who you are.) I feel so much better now--and it's not just because I only have one more drama performance to go. ;-) But seriously, you have helped me a lot. I don't feel nearly so lonely today as I did yesterday.

I'd also like to thank the wonderful people of mock_the_stupid, deleterius, and pottersues for keeping me occupied during my little mood swing, as well as apocalypsos for her always entertaining posts. You rock! *grin*

Tonight was Drama Performance #2. We did much, much better today than we did on Thursday. Only about 20 people showed up, but it was enough to cover the costs of the show. The club gets to stay for next semester. (It was just reinstated this semester after about 5 years of inactivity.) I'm really hoping that we get to do a Shakespearean play--that's the only reason I joined the drama club in the first place. Well, I suppose we'll see next semester.

After the performance, the director's parents treated those of us whose parents couldn't make it to Boston this weekend out to dinner. We went to the Longwood Grille--very nice. We were all in stage makeup and sweats. Must've looked quite strange. We were kinda loud, too--well, get a bunch of 18 to 21-year-old girls together, and you would expect that. We had some great conversations, ranging from the Pixar shorts shown before movies, to the value of education in American society, to Yankee swaps. It was quite entertaining. We didn't get back until 11:30, but it was definitely worth it.

Well, I suppose I'll go to bed now. Call time's at 1:00 tomorrow--need to get my beauty rest. :-)

I'm glad you're feeling better :) Hopefully your list of stuff to do is a little more under control now too.

If I may ask, what play are you doing?

Well, I do have my computer science pseudo-code and a self-evaluation for writing to finish, but hopefully, I'll have enough time tonight.

We're doing Chamber Music, by Arthur Kopit. It's about eight ladies in an asylum who think they're all famous people from history. I play the Woman with Notebook (Gertrude Stein).

Ooh, pseudocode. I used to love those assignments. Any assignment where no one expects the end results to actually compile can't be all bad.

The play sounds interesting. I don't think I'd ever heard of Kopit before.

Yeah--the professor laughed and said I was aiming low when she gave it back to me. But she understood when I told her my weekend was so busy, I just rattled something off to hand in. *sigh* I have a project ready that'll earn a C grade--but I really need a B or higher to keep my GPA up.

And I had never heard of Kopit before October. The only reason I joined the drama club in the first place was the promise of a Shakespearean production in the spring. Other than that, I didn't really care what we did. :-)
