I never really understood how the Meg fans felt (I came into JAG fandom around mid-season seven) until DPB killed off Kate on NCIS. What is up with him and his misogyny, anyway? *scowls*

That's why I like SG-1 so much. Sam's characterization is shaky at times, but it never devolves into the realms that Mac's did.

Meg was a lot better than Kate, and a lot worse.
Because they just left of in the middle of a two parter. then season 2, and the S1 finale suddenly never happened. no explanation. nothing. (yes they did resolve the episode, but never that whole thing with Meg. If I remember correctly. I wasn't really watching anymore at that point.)

And Sam's characterization makes *sense*. Sometimes I don't like the direction they're going in, but it's all believable based on what's happened. Granted, sometimes it could have gone the other way, but it never made me cringe.

I really like Starbuck. I think the writers have done a fantastic job with her, characterization wise.
