Hey, I don't suppose any of you have the Rufus Wainwright version of "Hallelujah", do you? I have the Jeff Buckley version, but I prefer the other--the piano sounds so much prettier.

If not, I suppose I'll just go out and buy the Shrek soundtrack. :-)

... I used to. But I have no idea where it is. Probably on the same disc as the k.d. lang version (which is my favorite). Damn it. I may have to look. That's like thrity discs I have to check. *grumbles*

I have a habit of burning CDs with the music I want to listen to at the moment, mixing old songs with new, etc. And then not labeling the disc, tossing it on the stack and burning a new one.

I have over 350 files on this comp, and another 250-300 or so floating around on data discs. And that's not including my (legal) cd collection. I'm a music whore.

try adding a zero to those numbers.

when we first got DSL (several years ago) I started to get a little too happy with the downloading.

and I can't just throw it out. 'cause music is like books. I could never, ever throw any away.

I know exactly what you're talking about. We got a cable modem in September of last year. I've been frugal, only keeping the ones I actually like. But I've downloaded many, many more than I've kept.

And I suppose I could add about another 250 to the number, but they're on my old computer, which died a couple of months ago, so I no longer have access to them. *cries*

Exactly! I couldn't agree more. That's why I have a pile of burned cds I haven't listened to in months. I can't just throw them out.

yeah well, I burned pretty much everything I downloaded on CD and more recently on DVD.

a couple of weeks ago I *tried* to sort my CDs... I have about 8ßß of them. or so It's hard to tell with different piles.

about 250 CDs would me music. But a lot of them are audio CDs.
CDs I've never listen to. (I used to burn CDs for different occasions - like class trips, and since my music taste is very different from the other people around me... most that is pretty much waht I would call crap.)
I really should start throwing them away. Or give them away.
Keep the ones I like and burn them on neat little DVDs.
and keep a register or something, cause I've discovered I'Ve downloaded and burned some things in doubles and tripples.

hmm.. I suppose I should actually listen to it then.
hmmmm.... the piano is great. But I think I like Buckley's vocals better.

(must find other versions of the song to compare)

Re: tada
I agree with you about the vocals. The solo piano seems more appropriate for the song, though.

Re: tada
hmmm. I dunno. both seem to fit. I mean if you picture the guy singing it for himself, and not in front of an audience.

Well, I always picture the last part of "Posse Comitatus", after CJ finds out Simon's been shot. :-)

Re: tada
I still cry every time I see that scene.

and I did that, too, for a long time. Until I finally googled the lyrics and sang it again and again and again. (until I finally managed to keep singing through the Halleluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuujah.)

at some point I started to think about *all* the words, which, in my opinion, don't really fit the the Simon thing.
Now I've got this faceless guy sitting around somewhere after a fight with his girl. You know at that moment, when he realized that things really aren't going well - and they probably never will. Yet there is no way out of it for him because he is too hung up on her.
The guitar seemed more appropriate because it seems more spontaneous that way. YOu can jsut grab your guitar and play. But you have to go and sit down to play the piano.

Ok, so that probably didn't make a lot of sense. But I'm slowly coming around to the piano version. Hmm... I can picutre House playing that song. I think it would hit his music taste. Although.. Hava Nagila? Is there something besides VIcodin in those pills?

You know I'm going to have to make a House/Stacy vid to it now, don't you? *glares*

Re: tada
I was kinda hoping you would. Cause it really does fit them perfectly.
I'm sneaky`, aren't I?

oh and we need an actual montage of Baba O'Reiley. That thing at the end of the episode was waaaay to short. *bats eyes*

gah! I think I need to one myself now (or try to)
to 'Soothe Me' I think it would fit House/Wilson perfectly. ( and damnit. I'm not even a shipper!)
