I actually liked tonight's episode. Quite a change, considering the last few.
So, this ep starts with a Force Recon team in Iraq. They were trying to get out under enemy fire. One of them loses the radio he's carrying--and leaves it behind.
The man, a Sergeant Ambrose, is charged with dereliction of duty. Mac's defending, Sturgis is prosecuting.
Ow. Sturgis is still holding a grudge against Bud for the events of last season's episode "Lawyers, Guns, and Money". I don't like that ep either, but for a different reason.
And we all know what that is, so there is no need to get into it.
Oh, yes, there is... but later. ;-)
So, Bud asks if Mac and Sturgis think that Harm is all right. Sturgis replies, "Harm and the phrase 'all right' don't usually go together." *sigh* I love this man.
Okay--with the Hamster now. He has a new boyfriend--er, partner. (cakemage, you're a bad influence on me.) His name is Andy Watson. How cute. They named the sidekick Watson.
Heh. He grew up in Berkeley, and he can't handle the heat. "I don't care what we do, as long as we do it in air conditioning." Of course, that's usually my reaction to hot weather, but I grew up in Rhode Island. I'm supposed to be weird.
So... Harm and Andy are going to be flying the Aurora. It's a new spy plane. It can go Mach 6. That's rilly rilly fast. :-)
Blah, blah, blah... more investigation stuff about the sergeant... Whoops. He left his team behind. In the middle of the Iraqi desert. Isn't that nice.
Hey! They're preempting NCIS this Tuesday! But it's for "Ice Queen" (I believe), so I don't mind. I still get to stare at Mark Harmon, so it's all good. ;-)
Sturgis has decorated his new office. Like Harm had model airplanes, he has model submarines.
Mac comes in to talk about the case.
"Are you saying that Marines are rigid?"
"Only in the most positive sense of the word."
"Spoken like a true Navy man." Sturgis looks at Mac quizzically, and she says, "Smooth."
Back to Harm and his boyfriend--no! Bad Shannon!
Anyway, they get to fly over the Rockies, the Bering Strait, and the North Pacific. A nice short flight, hmm? At least, it is when you're going Mach 6. :-)
"One lap around the North Pacific is nothing! Nothing! A walk in the park." Famous last words...
Mac and Bud in Mac's office. Bud's still worried about Harm. He suggests that Mac call Webb. "If I call Clayton, the last thing he'll want to talk about is Harm." Call him! Call him!
Mac suggests Bud ask the Admiral if Harm left a forwarding address for his e-mail. "Ma'am. Do I look dumb enough to broach that subject with the Admiral?"
Cool. Harm's and... Andy's flight suits are like astronaut suits.
Uh-oh. They have to fly over North Korea.
Die, Meredith. That's all I'm going to say about that.
More Harm flying stuff...
Yipes. The sergeant refused to kill a ten-year-old boy--who then went to the nearby Iraqi platoon and reported the recon team's position.
Yikes! Harm and Andy just lost an engine! And a missile's been launched!
Okay, the engine's ignited again. I love the look of disbelief on Harm's face...
Ow. The sergeant's case is going to general court-martial--and he's not going to contest it.
Ooh... harsh, Mac. She says to Sturgis at the end, "Must be nice, to be above it all. 'I wouldn't do it, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be done'? Now that's cowardice." Harsh, but true.
Yay! Beth's back next week! I like her character. And I know someone else who does, too... :-D
Well, I'm just glad that I enjoyed this episode. And next week's looks even better! Even if it is Harm-centric... Eh. At least you'll have some eye candy, huh, Mae? ;-)
