Mythbusters almost cool (by minty_peach)

My weekend

My computer's frozen twice while I was writing the detailed version of this weekend, so here's the summary:

On Saturday, I graduated. It was long. And boring. But the speaker (John Prendergast) was really good.

After the ceremony, I met up with my family. I tried to talk to everyone, but didn't pay enough attention to my cousin J., who sent me a bitchy MySpace message trying to guilt-trip me for it. I responded in kind, which she didn't like, and she became nasty. That correspondence culminated in me calling her a "self-righteous bint with delusions of adequacy"; I'm still waiting for a response to that.

I left with my foster family (who are more like family to me than my biological one), and we moved me out of my dorm room. I returned my room key, said goodbye to Simmons, and we headed home to Rhode Island. (And for some reason, LJ thinks "Rhode" is a misspelling. Bad LJ! No cookie for you!)

We went to Fire & Ice in the Providence Place Mall for dinner, which was awesome. L. (my favorite "sister") bought me a pomegranate martini. I took one sip and went back to my Sprite. She said the martinis were pretty strong, and tried to think of what alcoholic beverages I'd like.

After dinner, we went to Borders, because I wanted to use the gift card L. had given me for Christmas. I got Small Gods (which I've been wanting to reread for a while), Dragonsinger (because I bought Dragonsong at a used bookstore and wanted to see what happened next), and Kushiel's Scion.

On Sunday, I went for a manicure and pedicure with L., M., and G. 'Twas much fun--I'd never had a pedicure before. (And that was... pretty obvious.) I have an iridescent lavender nail polish on my fingers and toes, which I chose to match my outfit for my interview today.

The interview went pretty well--she asked me why I decided to apply for the job; I told her I was a former Little Sister, and I wanted to give back to the organization. I think, if my references are good enough, that might swing it. I should find out if I have the job by June 1.

And that's it. I'll post some graduation pics in a bit.
