Kitty!Hermione (by potterpuffs)

Sometimes I'm not entirely sure that iTunes isn't programmed with some sort of artificial intelligence. It's scary how *appropriate* the music it chooses can be.

I was working on my NaNoWriMo novel today. It's a Harry Potter/Stargate crossover. The idea's been bothering me for the past couple of weeks, and it would make a pretty good novel, so I've decided to try to write my very first novel-length fic. Anyway, I was writing a scene where Hermione tortures and kills Lucius Malfoy (what, dark? Don't be silly), when "Living Dead Girl" by Rob Zombie comes on iTunes. I'm a bit weirded out by this, but I ignore it and continue writing.

Later, I'm writing a scene that tells about Hermione's troubles after the "Final Battle" scene. (Every good novel-length HP fic needs one of those, I'm told.) She refuses to leave her apartment for a long time.

This is when the Avenue Q song "There is Life Outside Your Apartment" comes on.

I'm telling you, iTunes scares me.

So. Can anyone tell me how to get one of those word counters? Also, would anyone be willing to make a NaNo icon for me with a picture of Hermione? (Maybe potterpuffs Hermione, 'cause using pictures of Emma What's-Her-Face kinda creeps me out.) (I'd ask for something else, but I don't want to give the plot away.)
