My geekitude, let me show you it.

So I've been listening to the soundtracks from the Harry Potter movies. I read some reviews on iTunes, and it seems that people prefer the scores from the first three movies--the ones that were done by John Williams. Now, I do like a few pieces from those, but I actually like the Goblet of Fire soundtrack better. The music actually makes me think of the scenes they're meant for--and I've never actually seen the movie! During "Quidditch World Cup", I could see in my head the introduction of the Irish National team, and when it switched to introducing the Bulgarian team. Same with "Foreign Visitors Arrive", with Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. "Rita Skeeter" really invoked the memory of the conniving reporter, and it sounded like a beetle flitting about, gathering secrets. "Hogwarts' March" is an appropriately pompous school march.

Though, regarding the Williams compositions, every time I even think of it, "Hedwig's Theme" gets stuck in my head. I can't help but wonder how it'll sound when Hedwig's killed off in the first DH movie. My second favorite piece from the first three movies is "The Patronus Light"; it's so pretty and ethereal.
